Leather vintage shoes have always been popular in the market. There are various finishing techniques to obtain antique effect on leather shoes based on their leather types such as waxed leather, aniline leather and crust leather. Now we are going to introduce a classic vintage technique – with the help of burnishing wax or liquid burnishing wax, it is easy to create a natural and antique effect on leather shoes.

What’s Burnishing Wax?

Burnishing Wax for leather is a solid wax bar made of natural wax and synthetic wax. It is often used on heels and toes to obtain antique burnishing effects. When using, the friction of the cloth brush generates heat to melt the burnishing wax and penetrate into the leather fiber, and at the same time, the high temperature makes the wax burnt and darkened. This dual action gives the leather goods a two-tone darkening effect on the surface.

What’s Liquid Burnishing Wax?

Liquid Burnishing Wax is the liquid version of Burnishing Wax, which is commonly used on the overall shoe uppers to create antique burnishing effects. As it is a liquid product, the Liquid Burnishing Wax would penetrate into the leather fiber after spraying, the friction of the cloth brush generates heat to allow the leather surface present different colors with strong waxy touch and a sleek shine.
